Our biodiversity restoration mixes start from a very simple idea: right plant, right place, right seed technology. Behind each mix is a detailed species table where we score every plant for native status, habitat, root depth, dormancy, seed size, dike-stabilising ability and the best SeedBall format (biochar-core, classic ball or mini-pellet). This lets us design not just “pretty flower mixes”, but functional plant communities that stabilise soil, support insects and fit real maintenance regimes like mowing, grazing or low-input management.

For open grasslands and visual impact, we use our Meadow Biodiversity Mix (species-rich grassland) and a more flexible General B2B mix. These are built for verges, parks, field edges and water board projects where you want long flowering, lots of pollinators and a resilient, low-input sward. Deep-rooted perennials, legumes and stabilising grasses are combined in Classic SeedBalls so they emerge in small clusters, quickly covering soil and competing with weeds, while biochar in the balls improves early root growth and moisture buffering.

Wet and water-influenced sites need different players, so we’ve designed a Wetland–Marsh mix and a Coastal / brackish mix. The wetland blend is tuned for marsh edges, wet meadows, rewetted land and waterboard banks — species that can handle periodic flooding, soft soils and high moisture while still offering nectar and structure for wildlife. The coastal mix is built for seawalls, salt-touched fields and brackish ditches, using salt-tolerant grasses and forbs that hold banks together and stay green where standard meadow mixes fail.

Dry, sandy and shaded habitats have their own dedicated solutions. Our Dune–Sand mix is meant for Dutch dunes, sandy road verges and other dry, nutrient-poor soils, relying on drought-tolerant grasses, herbs and stabilisers that lock loose sand in place. The Forest Shade mix focuses on forest edges and understory restoration, with shade-tolerant species that can germinate and survive under a canopy. For farmers and regenerative projects we also created an AgriCover mix aimed at soil improvement, carbon capture, low-till systems and weed suppression, combining cover-crop species with biodiversity benefits.

The same approach scales beyond the Netherlands: we already use it to build Swiss forest and post-wildfire regeneration mixes, pairing biochar-core tree SeedBalls with herb and grass layers. And because everything is driven by our species database rather than a fixed catalogue, we can prepare a tailored solution for almost any location or project — dikes, meadows, rewetted peatlands, coastal defences, field margins, industrial sites or post-fire slopes. Tell us your site conditions and goals, and we’ll assemble the right combination of species and SeedBall formats so each plant gets the conditions it loves and the landscape gets the functions it needs.
